The move was made after the lawmaking National Assembly passed Resolution 98, which created special policies for the development of Ho Chi Minh City, including permission for the building of parking facilities on state-managed land lots. ![]() The total land zoned for the projects is 1,500 square meters. Authorities believe this amount of space will be sufficient to accommodate 350 automobiles and 200 motorbikes. The Department of Transport has consulted the Department of Construction and other relevant units on the use of state-owned land to construct parking facilities on Le Lai Street in District 1, in front of Le Van Tam Park on Hai Ba Trung Street in District 1, in the Cho Lon Bus Station in District 5, and on Hai Thuong Lan Ong Street in District 5. The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Transport has proposed four locations in District 1 and District 5 for the construction of prefabricated multi-story parking facilities capable of dealing with the overwhelming demand for parking in the southern metropolis. ![]()
